Three Robotic knee replacement surgeries were shown live on one-day Live Surgery Workshop held at NHS Hospital, Jalandhar yesterday.
More than 100 doctors from all over Punjab, Himachal and Jammu participated in this workshop. “Robotic Knee Replacement surgery is a revolutionary technology in Orthopaedics and we are proud to showcase our techniques and technology Live in doctors forum, for the first time in North India,” said the organiser and director of NHS Hospital, Jalandhar, Dr. Shubhang Aggarwal.
“We started robotic knee replacement around 10 months ago and are the only center in this part of the country to offer Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery,” he added.
In this unique workshop, robotic knee replacements were performed by Dr. Shubhang Aggarwal and his team in the ultra-modern operation theatre of NHS Hospital and were shown live in the hospital auditorium itself. “It was a proud moment for all of us at NHS Hospital and a learning experience for the delegates who have learnt immensely and witnessed history being made,” said Dr. Naveen Chitkara.
The interactive panel discussion with experts on nuances of Robotics Half and Full Knee Replacement was appreciated by people.
Besides faculty from various colleges of Punjab and Jammu, Dr. Anoop Jhurani from Jaipur and Dr. Mukesh Laddha from Nagpur specially flew in to demonstrate and discuss robotic knee replacement techniques.
For the last 15 years, Dr. Shubhang Aggarwal is at the forefront of joint replacement surgery. After having trained in the UK and various fellowships from Australia, Germany, France, Singapore, he returned to India in 2007 and brought with him the latest technology to serve people of Punjab and neighboring states.
