In the new suspension letter, the names of Neeraj Sharma, Ajit Sharma, and Pooja Mann are not there
The Hush Post: In an example of twisting the official orders, the names of some Jalandhar officials –who had been suspended by Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on June 14 in connection with illegal colonies and illegal constructions in Jalandhar– have been changed in the list of suspended officers.
There have been changes in the letter issued by Navjot Singh Sidhu on June 14 and the suspension letter issued on Friday (June 29). It is reported that due to the influence of local MLAs, three inspectors have been saved from being suspended and in their place, one Assistant Town Planner (ATP) and two other inspectors have been suspended, a report in Daily Samvad said on Friday.
The Local Bodies Department issued the suspension letter on Friday. This letter contains the names of Senior Town Planner (STP) Monica Anand, Parampal Singh, MTP Meharban Singh, ATP Balwinder Singh, ATP Naresh Mehta, ATP Banke Bihari, inspector Arun Khanna, Inspector Varinder Kaur, and ADFO K.L. Arora. These officers are accused of allowing illegal colonies and illegal constructions in Jalandhar.
On June 14, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu had held a press conference in Jalandhar and on the spot had suspended STP Monica Anand Parampal Singh, MTP Meharban Singh, ATP Balwinder Singh, ATP Naresh Mehta, inspector Neeraj Sharma, inspector Ajit Sharma and inspector Pooja Mann. The Local Bodies Minister had provided a three-page suspension order and chargesheet order to the media persons present in that press conference. But, in the suspension letter issued today (Friday, June 29) the names of three officials have been changed. In the new suspension letter, the names of Neeraj Sharma, Ajit Sharma, and Pooja Mann are not there. The report has stated that there was pressure from some MLAs for not suspending these three officials.
Notably, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu along with local MLA Pargat Singh had suspended these officials after conducting an inspection of some illegal colonies and illegal constructions in Jalandhar on June 14
