The Hush Post: The police have found the body of a 40-year-old woman who had eloped with her paramour. The cops found her body from a tubewell room in Shatabgarh near Machhiwara. The assailants bludgeoned the woman to death with a wooden log and fled leaving the body in a pool of blood.
Farm owner farmer Ajmer Singh noticed the body when he turned up in his field. He immediately sounded to the police. DSP Harsimrat Singh and Inspector Rajesh Kumar, SHO at police Station Macchiwara reached the spot and initiated investigation.
Later, police identified the victim as Santosh Kaur of Himmatgarh Chhanna in Amloh and informed her husband Sakattar Singh.
Inspector Rajesh Kumar said on Sakattar Singh’s complaint they have registered a murder case against Amandeep Singh. Amandeep (26) is a resident of Shatabgarh village. The police have also booked and his accomplices. The woman had illicit relation with Amandeep Singh for the last several months.
Sakattar Singh said that Santosh Kaur has left the house on Saturday morning without informing him. He came to came to know her murder through police.
As per police, Amandeep Singh and Santosh Kaur both had taken alcohol in the tubewell room. After it Amandeep Singh murdered her by hitting her with a wooden log and fled. The police have recovered the log with blood stains from the spot.
Woman’s husband Sakattar Singh said Amandeep Singh used to visit his house. His wife Santosh Kaur had introduced him as her relative. Later, he came to know that both have illicit relations. He stopped Santosh Kaur for meeting Amandeep Singh but she did not mend her ways.
It was the second marriage of Sakattar Singh after his wife has died. He has four children from Santosh Kaur, who was the sister of his first wife. Amandeep Singh is also married, but his wife has gone to her parental house following strained relations with him.
The police suspect that some more persons were also involved in the crime. The police have booked Amandeep Singh and his unidentified accomplices for the crime. A hunt is on for the arrest of the accused, who is absconding.
