The Hush Post, Khanna: Continuing with their security arrangements for Independence Day, the Khanna Police on Friday conducted special checking and search operations.
The police have beefed up security in view of the Independence Day. Under the increased surveillance special arrangements for search and area domination have been planned to ensure the law and order situation.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said in a press release that under these precautionary measures, on daily-basis 35 special nakas in different localities of the town have been planned. And especially for night, 11 strong naka duties have been planned along with patrolling by 10 four-wheelers and 15 PCR bikes. Besides, under rural areas, around-the-clock patrolling by 11 four wheelers and PCR motorcycles under the Rapid Rural Police Response System (RRPRS). For the urban areas (Police station City 1, City 2 and Police station Doraha) 15 PCR motorcycles have been deployed for round-the-clock patrolling.
Besides this, a special surveillance is being observed at the religious places, deras, ashrams, inns etc to pre-empt any untoward incidents and to keep a watch on suspected elements, proclaimed offenders, criminals, the persons who have served jail terms etc.
Special checking is being conducted at bank ATMs, Money Exchanges, jewellery shops, crowded areas and markets, bus stand, railway station, cinema halls, petrol pumps etc. During nights, hotels, dhabas, and restaurants would be specially checked. The SSP said that these duties would be specially monitored by the concerned area police officers.
SSP Dahiya said that on Friday in Khanna subdivision, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP)(Headquarters) Balwinder Singh Bhikhi special search operations and checkings were conducted.
In Doraha, such special search operations and checking were held under the supervision of Sarabjit Kaur, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)(Special Branch) Khanna.
In Samrala, such special search operations and checking were conducted under the supervision of Harsimrat Singh, DSP Samrala.
