Elderly woman dies of snakebite in Khanna village

The Hush Post, Khanna: An elderly woman died due to snakebite at Barmalipur near Khanna on Tuesday. The deceased woman has been identified as a 70-year-old Ajaib Kaur.

According to available information, deceased Ajaib Kaur was bitten by a snake when she was at her home. On Monday night she had gone to the cattle shed to feed her cattle. While she was giving fodder to the cattle, suddenly a snake that was sitting in the fodder bit her on hand but she could not see the snake.

The woman told about it to her husband that something had bitten her but they passed off the issue as this might be an insect only. Later she got severe pain in her hand she was taken to Civil Hospital, Payal but she was referred to Civil Hospital Ludhiana as the treatment of snakebite is not available at the Payal Civil Hospital.

At Ludhiana also her condition kept deteriorating and she was referred to Patiala but on Tuesday but she died.  Her body was taken to her village where she was cremated in the evening.
