Gold Rush: Khanna Police hold 2 with 7 kg gold worth Rs 21 crore

S.K. Shourie, Khanna: The Khanna Police have held two persons and claimed to have seized 7 Kg gold worth over Rs 21 crore from them.

The accused have been identified as Dharam Pal and Anil Kumar, both residents of Hamirpur of Himachal Pradesh.

While addressing a press conference on Saturday, Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahia stated that the duo was arrested at a naka near Pristine Mall on the G.T. Road in Khanna. During checking the vehicles, the police party signalled to stop a Honda Amaze car bearing Registration number PB10-DR-0101.

The SSP further said that the police party found eight packets under the driver seat. The SSP added that when the police party enquired about the packets, both the car-borne persons revealed about the gold ornaments in the packets.

SSP Dahiya stated that both the persons have revealed that they were going to Ludhiana with the gold consignment. The SSP claimed that they handed over the case to the Excise Enforcement Department for further inquiry.
