The Hush Post, Khanna: The Khanna Police have arrested a man who was running a fake money exchange and have seized the currency of different countries the value of which is Rs 2.39 lakh in the Indian currency.

Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said that the arrested man has been identified as Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Near Guru Amardas Market, Khanna. The SSP said that the arrested man was running Ria Forex Money Exchanger Agency at Guru Amardas Market in Khanna.

SSP Dahiya said that the police have recovered the International Currency (144 Dollar American, 230 dollar Australian, 60 Pound England, 20 Dollar Canadian, 650 Euro worth Rs 80,700/-) and Indian Currency (worth Rs 1,58,500/-) total worth Rs 2,39,200 from him, but he failed to produce any supporting legal document.

An FIR has been registered against the arrested man under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act 1967 at City-2 police station of Khanna.

The SSP said that in future too, a strict action will be taken against the fake and fraud money exchangers.
