Lok Insaaf Party member Ravinder Singh Sonu arrested with heroin, expelled

The Hush Post: Ludhiana STF Police today arrested senior Lok Insaaf Party Leader Ravinder Singh alias Sonu. Ravinder Singh had 50 grams of heroin in his possession. He had fought the recent MC elections from the LIP ticket from Ward 48.

A resident of Model Town, Ravinder Singh was arrested after disclosures made by convict Damandeep Singh who was also caught with 50 gram heroin. After sustained questioning, Damandeep Singh revealed the names of his accomplices Ravinder Singh and Ravi Kumar.

Looking at the sensitivity of the case, the Police immediately reached Ravinder Singh’s residence in Model Town and arrested him. Inspector Harbans Singh said that when Ravinder Singh was arrested, even he was in possession of heroin.

The Police is questioning Ravinder Singh and hoping for more disclosures from him. He has revealed that he has been involved in the drug trade since a long time.

Meanwhile LIP Head Simarjeet Singh Bains has decided to expel Ravinder Singh from the party. Bains added that no member with such harmful intent would be allowed to be a functionary of the party.

Speaking on the issue, Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu called for the resignation of Bains stating that he should take moral responsibility of the same. Terming Banis as a two faced personality he said that while on the one hand he would talk about the drug issue in the state, on the other hand his own party members were promoting the drug trade in the state.
