The Hush Post: A man from Ludhiana allegedly posted his ex-lover’s photos on social networking site Facebook along with dirty comments. The accused had procured the photos of the victim woman, with whom he was in a relationship in past, from her WhatsApp account.
After coming to know about her photos with objectionable comments doing rounds on Facebook, the woman reported the matter to the police and the man was booked by the city police. The accused, identified as Deepak Arora, a resident of Kailash Nagar, had allegedly posted the victim’s photos on Facebook using a fake ID. The accused has yet not been arrested, a report said on Wednesday.
The city cops said the accused had procured the picture of the victim, with whom he was in a relationship in past, from her WhatsApp account and then posted these photos on Facebook with dirty comments, it was reported.
The victim, who has separated from her husband, has complained to the cops that she was in a relationship with the accused man. But later she got separated from him also and after that accused Deepak Arora started defaming her. The 40-year-old victim said in her complaint that she came to know about her photos being posted on FB in August 2017, when some of her relatives spoke to her her about her pictures, the report said.
“I was shocked to see the comments posted with my picture,” the victim was quoted as saying. She added that accused Deepak Arora had also given her mobile number in the Facebook post.
The cops said the accused has made a fake ID as Sanjiv Kumar on Facebook. Then, Deepak Arora created another fake Facebook ID as Cheema Dhaliwal and uploaded her picture on it too. The victim complained the matter to the Ludhiana Police Commissioner on August 22, 2017, following which an inquiry was marked to the cyber cell, the report said.
The investing officer (IO) of the case, Inspector Birbal Singh, said they had traced the phone number from which the accounts were being operated and found that Deepak Arora of Kailash Nagar was operating it, it was reported.
Inspector Birbal Singh said Deepak Arora has been booked in a case under the provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act and under the provisions of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. A manhunt has been launched by the police to arrest the accused, the report.
