The Hush Post: Age is just a number, so goes the saying. 44-year-old Rajni Bala has proved it true by taking up her class X exam, 29 years after leaving her studies midway after class IX due to unfortunate family circumstances. Eventually, she got married and got busy in her family life.
She has been preparing for her board exam along with her son who also studies in Class X and is appearing for her board exams now. She wakes up early in the morning along with her husband who teaches her, and children, and then goes for her job as a ward attendant in the civil hospital. She goes to school with her son and also accompanies him for tutions while her daughters also help her study at home.
“My husband has been telling me for several years to complete my education. However, I had three children and had to educate them. I realised it is important to pass Class X at least, in the present day. I and my son go to school together and also study together,” Rajni told news agency ANI.
Rajni Bala admitted that though the initial days were awkward, she said with the support of her husband, children, and mother-in-law, she was able to overcome her initial inhibitions.
Keen on pursuing her graduation, she said “My mother-in-law, in spite of being uneducated herself, motivated me to take this decision,” she said.
Her husband, Raj Kumar Sathi said, “I myself pursued my graduation after a gap of 17 years. I felt that if I can do it, so can my wife”.
Pawan Gaur, Principal of Lajwanti Senior Secondary School where the mother-son duo study, said that when individuals come back to complete their education after several years, it sends a positive message to society.
