Ludhiana, The Hush Post: Seventy-two hours after the collapse of five-storey plastic manufacturing unit — Amarson Polymers, the families of three firemen who are still trapped under the debris are waiting, hoping for some miracle but knowing that they may have to carry home the brave firemen one last time. Firemen Manpreet, Sukhdev and Manohar Lal are still under the ruins even as rescue operations are on. The rescue is becoming difficult since the fire after being extinguished once keeps breaking out because of the inflammable material inside the rubble.
Till now, a total of 12 bodies have been pulled in the last three days. Those who died have been identified as Inderpal Singh Gill, the president of Ludhiana based Punjab Taxi Union, senior fire officer Samuel Gill, fireman Puran Singh and Safai Karamchari Union leader Lachman Dravid, firemen Rajan, Vishal, Sandeep Singh, Amarjot Singh, Baldev, Dhan Bahadur, and Kanhaiya.
When the factory caught fire nobody was inside. However, later while dousing it, the fire brigade personnel were trapped. A case has since been registered under Section 304 against the factory owner.
