‘DEAD’ FISH USED TO SMUGGLE HEROIN, UGANDAN WOMAN HELD, LINKS TRACED TO DELHI, MOGA

The Hush Post: Criminals, traffickers, law- breakers can go to any extent to make their plans work. A Uganda-based woman drug trafficker has been held by the joint team of the Jalandhar and Ludhiana police who had concealed 1.5 kg heroin inside dead fish.The accused woman identified as Rosette Namutabi, a Uganda national, had been residing in Uttam Nagar, Delhi. She used to facilitate the supply of consignment sent by Delhi-based Manpreet and Moga-based Gurjant alias Jand. Police is on the lookout for both.

The police laid a trap following a tipoff on Moga-Jagraon stretch of the National Highway. The concealed contraband was wrapped in special kind of 30 capsules, each weighing 50 grams, stuffed inside 6 dead fish.

Talking to a news website, Arpit Shukla, IG, Jalandhar Zone said, “The kingpin of the drug racket is a foreign national identified as Nabus alias Michael already lodged in Nabha jail under the NDPS Act. He is operating the drug business from the jail. Another  notorious  poppy husk smuggler Raja Singh, who is also in jail, will be taken on production warrants along with Michael  in the coming days to identify other criminals who may be part of this international module.
