The Hush Post: A major fire broke out in a factory in Ludhiana today. The fire broke out at 11.45 am in a furniture factory, BK Furniture in Mohalla Fakir Chand which falls under Division No 3 police station.
Reportedly, the flames started due to sparking in the wires running overhead the furniture factory. The fire caught the furniture in the godown and also engulfed two bicycles, a motorcycle and a portion of a car. The fire brigade was immediately called. At least 12 to 15 fire tenders were pressed into service. It is estimated that there has been a loss of Rs 15 lakh to the owner Krishan Singla.
At the time of writing of this report, the fire was still on. Hosiery and furniture factories invariably fall prey to fires particularly in summers in Ludhiana and this is not for the first time such a fire has occurred.
