The action was taken in connection with jailbreak of two prisoners
The Hush Post: Punjab Jail minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has suspended four officers in connection with the escape of two prisoners from Central Jail, Ludhiana. It was reported that the Jail minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa took this decision following the report of inquiry. Two prisoners had escaped from central jail in the past.
Official spokesman informed the jail minister has ordered the jail superintendent Shamsher Singh Boparai, Deputy Superintendent Manjeet Singh Tiwana, Assistant Superintendent Parvinder Singh and Head Ward Nishan Singh to be suspended. This action against these four officers has been taken in charge of negligence in their duty.
The two escapees were brothers Harwinder Singh and Jasvir Singh from Rattanpalon village near Amloh in Fatehgharh Sahib. Jail authorities found the two missing during a headcount at the end of the day on May 14.
