The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation razed down a building near Bhadaur House on Wednesday. Interestingly, the building belonged to Kamaljeet Singh, brother of Gurdeep Singh Gosha. Gosha is one of the two youth Akali leaders who had blackened former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s statue.
The MC officials said that the building was not in accordance with the rules. However, Kamaljeet Singh said that he had got the design passed by the MC.
A case was registered on Tuesday against Meetpal Dugri and Gurdeep Singh Gosha. They had blackened the leader’s statue as a mark of protest holding him responsible for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
“We don’t fear the law. Despite the Congress government in power, we will continue to blacken the statues of Rajiv Gandhi,” Gosha had said on Tuesday.
Congress leader Gursimran Singh Mand had cleaned the statue with his turban and milk.
