Ludhiana’s Customs Commissionerate is holding refund camp for IGST from May 31 to June 14 to dispose off pending cases of IGST refunds

The Hush Post: Providing a relief for the local exporters who were voicing concern over delay in processing of their Goods and Service Tax (GST) refunds, Ludhiana’s Customs Commissionerate is holding refund camp for Integrated Goods & Services Tax (IGST) from May 31 (Thursday) to June 14. During this fortnight, the pending cases of IGST refunds would be disposed off.

This refund camp is being held under orders of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), a report said on Thursday.

Arvinder Singh Ranga, Commissioner of Customs was quoted as saying: “The exporters and trade associations have represented for seeking resolution of problems which have hindered sanction of refund of IGST paid to them.”

“In this drive to facilitate the exporters and to clear the pendency of the IGST refund we have nominated jurisdictional Deputy/Assistant Commissioners of the Inland Container Depot (ICD) GRFL, ICD Kanech, ICD Concor, CFS OWPL, CFS KCM, ICD PSWC, ICD Baddi, ICD Pristine and ICD Jalandhar as Nodal Officers for disbursal and monitoring of the refund cases,” Ranga was quoted as having said.

Ranga reportedly said, “There had been technical flaws for filing of the IGST refund like exporters have inadvertently mis-declared IGST paid on export supplies as IGST paid on interstate domestic outward supplies while filing GSTR-3B etc. During the Special Drive exporters would be guided for resolving various inadvertent mistakes through e-mails, telephones and meeting at Ports. Accordingly Senior Officers have been appointed as Nodal Officer for the said purpose”

Ranga also said that for clearance of the pending IGST refund, all IGST refund claimants may register on ICEGATE website, if not already done, to check their refund status and he also requested exporters to come forward and avail of the opportunity to get the refunds sanctioned during this special drive, the report said.
