Seven dead in Ludhiana cylinder blast, Ashok Kumar succumbs to his injuries

The Hush Post: The toll in the gas cylinder blast tragedy which took place in Ludhiana has now risen to seven.
Ashok Kumar, 45, who was critically injured in Thursday’s cylinder blast in Giaspura died today succumbing to his injuries at PGIMER, Chandigarh. Another five who are seriously injured are being given treatment at various hospitals in Ludhiana and Chandigarh.

On Thursday last, after a gas cylinder blast at the house of Ashok Kumar Yadav in Samrat Colony of Giaspura area in Ludhiana more than 30 persons received severe burn injuries.

Before Ashok, his wife Sunita, 40, and son Raj, 13, had died earlier after the incident. The couple’s two daughters Kajal and Pooja are now undergoing treatment in the hospital. Both are in critical condition.
The incident took place when Sunita Yadav was cooking food last Thursday. There was no electricity then at their place. The LPG cylinder started leaking without Sunita realising it. The moment power came back, there was sudden explosion and Sunita’s clothes caught fire. Those who came to help also leapt up in flames, which is what explains injuries to several people.

 The names of those injured included Pooja Yadav, Kaajal Yadav, Ashok Yadav, Aganya Yadav, Jaswant Singh, Shashi, 35, Surender 48, Uttam 18, Ashok Yadav, Meena Devi, Mohammad Ali, Kamlesh, Bittu, Raj, Rajan, Rakesh, Dharmendra, Anju Devi, Ram Naresh, Amarnath, Shivam, Shiv Sharma, Govind, Sunita.
