Ludhiana City Centre scam: Plea to reopen case dismissed by Ludhiana Sessions Court

The Hush Post, Ludhiana: Ludhiana Session’s court today dismissed  Lok Insaaf Party supremo and Atamnagar MLA Simarjit Bains’s plea to reopen vigilance case against Amarinder in Ludhiana City Centre Case. Advocate Manish Purang while confirming this news said that Bains had pleaded that he should be made a party in the case. However, the court of Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh rejected his plea. Bains’s advocate announced to challenge sessions court verdict in the High Court.

The case started in 2007, during Capt Amarinder Singh’s first term as CM. As per the case, a private company, Today Homes, was allegedly given benefit of Rs 1,144 crore for setting up Ludhiana City Centre. After 10 years, the Vigilance Bureau had filed closure report saying all those named in FIR were “completely innocent” and that there was no proof of any financial misappropriation in the Ludhiana City Centre case.
