The Hush Post: Ever since, the Greater Ludhiana Development Authority (GLADA) was set up, in a total of five districts only 91 colonies have been approved. However, in this time period, 1,920 unapproved colonies have been set up. Out of this, the maximum colonies have been set up in Ludhiana. As many as 1,450 colonies have been established. Now GLADA has undertaken the task of listing all the approved and unapproved colonies.
GLADA has also made it clear if anyone wants to build a house or buy a plot should look up the list of approved and unapproved colonies of Glada and only then go ahead with the deal.
The projects which are part of GLADA include those in the (tehsil area of Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Moga, Firozpur and Jalandhar.
Up till now, 2011 colonies have come up in these five cities. Out of these, only 91 colonies have been approved while 1,920 colonies have been unapproved till now.
As per ludhianalive.com Punjab government has already made a policy to regularise colonies and fixed a date of August 20. However, despite this, no coloniser has come forward to get his colony approved.
Though, GLADA officials have said that these unapproved colonies would have doubled had proper checks not been issued on time. Also, on top of that GLADA officials have now been told if any more illegal colonies come up, they will be equally responsible.
Meanwhile, as per reports, more than 500 FIRs have been recommended against illegal coloniers by the GLADA.
