Ludhiana man gets 10-year jail term for raping minor girl

The Hush Post, Ludhiana: The Court of Additional Sessions Judge Sonia Kinra convicted one Dharminder Singh, a resident of Dugri Ludhiana with 10 years rigorous imprisonment and with fine of Rs 1.60 lakh for kidnapping and raping a minor girl.

According to the prosecution, Dugri Police had registered an FIR against the accused on April 9, 2015, on the complaint of the father of the victim. According to the complainant, he is working as a daily wager and he has three children. His younger daughter was 14-year-old and was studying in the sixth standard. He further stated that on April 7, 2015, his younger daughter had gone to school, but she did not return home. The complainant had tried to find her at all possible places, but he failed to find her.

After that, he was come to know from reliable sources that the accused had kidnapped her younger daughter. Afterward, police had arrested him and had produced him in court. The court has charged him for kidnapping. During the trial, as the victim had registered her statement in the court. Tcourthe  had made an addition of sections of rape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act also.

The accused claimed that he is innocent and was falsely implicated in the case. After going through detail evidence and arguments of the both prosecution and defence counsels, the court found him guilty and convicted accordingly.
