Ludhiana court rejects petition against Salman Khan, Shilpa Shetty in casteist slur case

The complainant had sought action against the actors under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for hurting the sentiments of scheduled caste community.

The Hush Post: A Ludhiana court today rejected a petition filed against Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty for allegedly making casteist remarks. Narinder Aadia, the complainant, had sought action against the actors under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for hurting the sentiments of scheduled caste community.

Aadia, through his counsel, Munish Purang, had alleged that Salman Khan had made a defamatory comment about the Valmiki community during the promotion of his movie ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. He added that similarly, Shilpa Shetty had also made such comment against Valmiki community during an interview.

The petition was filed in the court of court of judicial magistrate Sumit Sabharwal in January this year.  A similar petition was filed against the two actors in a Mumbai court.
