13-year-old Jaskaran Singh Dhaliwal had got injured on May 31 during a school trip to an amusement park and his kidney had got damaged
The Hush Post: A class 9 student of a school in Mullanpur near Ludhiana lost one of his kidneys due to an alleged negligence by the schoolteachers and the school staff.
According to a report on News18 channel, the victim student is Jaskaran Singh Dhaliwal (13), a resident of Rattowal village falling under Raikot subdivision of Ludhiana district. He is a student at a school in Mullanpur.
The report said that Jaskaran Singh along with other students had gone on a school-organised trip to Patiala-situated Dhillon Fun World Water Park on May 31. It was during that trip that Jaskaran got injured and as a result, he had to lose one of his kidneys. The doctors were left with no option but to remove Jaskaran’s one kidney that had got damaged.
The News18 report said that Jaskaran Singh had got injured at about 2.30 pm on May but the school staff handed him over to his family at 7 in the evening.
Jaskaran Singh’s mother Simranjit Kaur speaking to News18 said that the negligence by the school staff has caused the loss of her son’s kidney and his life has been destroyed and all his dreams have been shattered. She said that her son is a very brilliant student and had a very bright future. She demanded a strict action against the school staff due to whose negligence her son had to lose his kidney.
Jaskaran Singh’s father Gurmeet Singh, who works with a private company, told News18 that due to the negligence of the school staff his son’s kidney has been damaged. He said that till now they have spent Rs Three lakh on the treatment of Jaskaran Singh.
Gurmeet Singh further said that when they approached the school management, they got a shocking reply from the school authorities. According to Gurmeet Singh, the school authorities said that even with single kidney one can live, so what if Jaskaran’s one kidney has been damaged. Gurmeet Singh has also demanded a strict action against the negligent school staff.
Jaskaran Singh is an all-rounder student and he used to actively participate in extra-curricular activities along with his studies. He had won 100-metre and 200-metre races and had also participated in the Bhangra competition in the school along with other competitions, the News18 report said.
