The Hush Post: A woman from Ludhiana has been arrested on the charges of forcing her niece into flesh trade. The Shimlapuri arrested the accused woman on Tuesday after registering a first information report (FIR) against her.

The police have booked the accused woman, identified as Praveen, a resident of Guru Hargobind Nagar in Shimlapuri locality. An FIR has been registered against her under the provisions of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act, a report said.

This FIR was registered based on a complaint from accused woman’s niece, it was reported.

According to Shimlapuri police station’s station house officer (SHO) Ravi Kumar the victim, a resident of Barota road, has complained that her father had died last year and after his death, her mother remarried another man. She said that her stepfather had refused to keep her so she was left with no option but to come to her aunt Parveen earlier this year, the report said.

Victim’s aunt accepted her in her home and told the victim and said that she can stay there as long as she wants. After a couple of months ago victim’s aunt told her to go with a man. When the victim refused, her aunt thrashed her, it was reported.

The victim has complained to the police that then it became a routine. The victim managed to escape on Monday reported the matter to the police.

SHO Ravi Kumar said no other girl has been recovered from the house. The SHO said that accused woman’s husband is a driver. The cops are investigating whether her husband is also involved in the crime or not, the report said.
