Two Ludhiana courts have awarded jail terms to two persons.

In the first case, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasbir Singh Kang convicted one Rajwinder Singh under Section 376 (rape) & 377 (unnatural offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 4 of Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court acquitted the mother and father of accused in this case. In 2014, the Jagraon police had registered an FIR against the accused.

In another case, a local court has awarded 10-year imprisonment to a person after holding him guilty in a case under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Daljit Singh Ralhan convicted one Agrenj Singh resident of Buttari village in Ludhiana with 10 years and fine of Rs One lakh for drug peddling.

On January 11, 2013, the Dehlon Police had registered an FIR against the accused under Section 15 of NDPS Act. According to the prosecution, on that day, as per information received, a police party on patrol from village Nangal to Buttari, tried to stop a red colour Zen car. The accused managed to flee but was arrested afterwards. As per the defence counsel, the accused had been falsely implicated in the case. After going through the detailed proceedings of the case, the court found him guilty.
