The Hush Post: An arhatiya was shot dead in broad daylight at the Subzi Mandi in Ludhiana. The victim has been identified as Gurjit Singh. The assailant arrived on an Activa and shot at the victim from a close range with a 32-bore revolver. He was immediately taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Gurjit Singh belonged to Jammu but lived at Laxmi Nagar in Ludhiana for three generations.
The reason behind the murder is said to be the animosity between Gurjit Singh’s son Gaurav who was friends with one Goru. According to sources, the genesis behind the enemity goes back to 2016. Goru and Gaurav had gone together to Chintpurni when they had a fight over an unknown issue. Gaurav’s father Gurjit Singh subsequently filed a case against Goru for embezzlement of Rs 40,000.
Goru was arrested in 2017 and was released a few months ago. Goru was looking for an opportunity to get even with Gurjit.
