Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to unfurl the national flag at Ludhiana’s Guru Nanak Stadium on August 15
The Hush Post, Ludhiana: The state-level Independence Day celebrations would be organised at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, in which Chief Minister Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh would unfurl the national flag. More than 2000 students from different schools of the city would participate in these celebrations and would present cultural items along with those related to national integration and communal harmony.
While chairing a meeting to review the preparations of state-level Independence Day celebrations, Deputy Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Agrawal stated that the rehearsals for the celebrations have been started at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, since August 8, which would continue on August 10 & August 11, 2018 as well whereas the full and final dress rehearsal would be held on August 13, 2018.
He informed that this year, the cultural function during the Independence Day celebrations would be very impressive and the function would also include a PT show, a march past, etc. The students would not only present cultural items but would also showcase the welfare schemes being started by the Punjab government. The participating students would be displaying placards and other material showing information related to the welfare schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all government officials to work hard to make the state-level Independence Day celebrations successful. He also said that the attendance of all government officials would be compulsory on August 15, 2018, and the review meeting regarding the same would be held on August 13, 2018.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashwani Kapoor, ADC (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal, ADC (General) Iqbal Singh Sandhu, ADC Khanna Ajay Sood, ADC Jagraon Neeru Katyal, ADCP Surinder Lamba, besides several others.
