One person was killed in a firing incident at the Pavilion Mall, Ludhiana on late night Friday.
A press conference was organised a short while back in which the police disclosed that one Manjit Singh was killed in the incident.
Manjit was a guest in a birthday party of one Parminder Singh Pappu. Another guest at the party Sumit Saini received a leg injury.
The accused who fired at the guest has been arrested by the police while the cops are on a look-out for other accomplices.
The accused has been identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Bindi. Manjit Singh had come to the birthday party along with his wife. The accused Jaswinder was dancing along with his friends at the same venue. Suddenly there was an altercation between them.
It was then that Jaswinder went to the parking and brought his weapon (a revolver) and fired at Manjit and Sumit. Manjit was immediately taken to the DMC hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The other injured victim, Sumit is being treated for the bullet injury in his leg.
The police will also investigate as to how could the accused bring in the revolver into The Mall.
It is pertinent to mention that the accused already has three such criminal cases against him and the police will definitely taken that into account.
