Rakhi Sawant tenders apology regarding objectionable remarks against Lord Valmiki, settles case out-of-court

The complaint was filed against the 38-year-old actress last year for her remarks that she allegedly made on a private channel.

The Hush Post: Bollywood and television actress Rakhi Sawant has tendered her apology for making objectionable remarks against Lord Valmiki, the author of Ramayana. The actress was today in Ludhiana in connection with the case filed against her. She reportedly apologised to the complainant lawyer, Narendra Adhaya, and settled the case out of the court.

The complaint was filed against the 38-year-old actress last year for her remarks that she allegedly made on a private channel. The complainant has alleged that Rakhi had hurt the sentiments of the Valmiki community. She was even arrested by the Punjab Police in Mumbai earlier this month.

Sawant had made inappropriate claims about Lord Valmiki. The actress was giving an example of how people and their situations change. At one point of time, singer Mika Singh who had forcibly kissed her during his birthday bash in 2004, Sawant now said that like the Hindu sage, the singer had also now “changed” and was “innocent”.

Sawant, who is best known for appearances in reality TV shows like Bigg Boss and Rakhi Ka Swayamwar said that she sincerely respected Lord Valmiki and her statement was presented in a wrong manner.  The actress had tendered ‘an unconditional apology’ to the Valmiki community after its members voiced outrage over her alleged remarks.
