The Hush Post: The body of a youth, the son of a station house officer (SHO) with the Vigilance Bureau (VB), was found under mysterious circumstances from his car near Hissowal village on the Jagraon-Ludhiana Highway in the wee hours of Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as a 24-year-old Jeevanjot Singh, son of a Vigilance Bureau SHO Gurmeet Singh. Jeevanjot’s body was found inside his car which had been parked on the village link road at Hissowal. Some morning walkers first spotted the car and the body inside it. Initially the villagers took it casually but when the sun rose, they found a youth lying in the car. The villagers thought that the youth was sleeping but when the car remained parked there for hours together, the villagers smelt a rat and the matter was reported to the police, as per a report on News 18 TV channel on Saturday morning.
The police immediately reached the spot to investigate the matter. The deceased was identified and from his car a syringe and a white powder-type substance was found on the dashboard. Prima facie it appears that Jeevanjot Singh has died due to overdose of drug, the News 18 report said.
Further investigations are on in this case.
