The Hush Post: Three men allegedly gang-raped a 28-year-old woman in Ludhiana. The accused include an auto driver and two co-passengers in the auto the victim was riding.
The victim has alleged that she hired an auto to go home. She said already there were two male passengers in the auto along with the auto driver. The trio made her sniff something intoxicating after which she lost consciousness and they raped her, a report said.
The victim alleged that while fleeing the accused took away gold earnings, mobile, and Rs 10,000 cash from her bag.
The incident happened on October 1. But the victim lodged a complaint with police on Wednesday night. On the basis of her complaint, the police have lodged an FIR and arrested one accused, the report said.
The police have booked Gurdit Singh, of Meharban, Bobby and Amsher Ali for rape, criminal intimidation, and theft charges. The police have arrested Gurdit Singh from his house.
The victim, an orchestra dancer, said on October 1 around 8:30, she took an auto after work to reach home. Two men were sitting in the auto besides the driver.
The victim further said she objected to rash driving by the driver. After that, the two fellow passengers sitting by her side, made her sniff something intoxicating after which she lost consciousness.
The victim said: “When I gained consciousness I found myself in an unidentified, isolated place. There they accused raped me. The accused also took my mobile phone, Rs 10,000 in cash and a pair of gold earrings from my bag. I begged them to allow me to go. On this, the accused warned me with dire consequences if I dare to go to the police.”
After that, the accused fled in the auto. The victim somehow managed to reach her home and narrated everything to her family.
She said: “I was unwell and scared so could not approach the police.”
On Wednesday evening, she lodged a police complaint.
SHO Davinder Kumar reportedly said that they received the complaint on Wednesday night and promptly registered an FIR. The woman has said that the accused were calling each other by their names thus the accused were identified.
The SHO said: “The police further have arrested the auto driver by late night but his accomplices are absconding. The police are investigating the case and will arrest both accused soon.”
