The Hush Post: Famour Punjabi film star and singer Gippy Grewal has got an extortion call from gangster Dilpreet Singh Dhahan.
After famous Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was shot at in Mohali, Dhahan had claimed the responsibility for the act. And this comes within a month-and-a-half of it.
Reportedly Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kuldeep Singh Chahal has said: “We have registered a case against Dilpreet Dhahan at Mohali’s Phase 8 police station after Gippy informed us that he received an extortion call from him.”
At present, Gippy is promoting his new movie Carry on Jatta 2 across Punjab. He lives in Mohali and has been part of many hit Punjabi movies including “Ardaas”, “Manje Bistre”, “Subedaar Joginder Singh” and “Jihne Mera Dil Luteya”.
The gangster has warned Gippy that he treated the way Parmish was if he failed to meet his demand. The singer-actor has reportedly apprised police and demanded security. The gangster had spoken to Gippy on a WhatsApp call.
More than half-a-dozen of the Punjabi music industry, who are in demand for live shows and concerts, are the main targets of gangsters in Punjab. Sources say, many may have even complied with the extortion demand.
Besides Dhahan, Sampat Nehra of Lawrence Bishnoi gang has also made extortion calls to leading chemist in Chandigarh.
