BREAKING: Punjabi singer Navjot Singh shot dead in Dera Bassi

The Hush Post: In yet another attack on a Punjabi singer, a 22-year-old singer Navjot Singh was shot dead in Dera Bassi on late Sunday night. Earlier, last month famous Punjabi singer Parmish Verma had got injured after being shot in Mohali. But Navjot Singh was not lucky like Parmish Verma.

Navjot Singh’s bullet-ridden body was found from a vacant plot in Dera Bassi on late Sunday night. His body was found approximately 50 metres from where his car was found parked. The Punjabi singer was reportedly going to see his parents in Behra village near Dera Bassi, a report said. The singer had recently released two songs.

Navjot Singh was living in an apartment in Mohali town’s Eco Towers and had rung up his mother at about 11:15 pm, telling her that he will reach home in about 5 minutes, the report said.

Initially, his family started calling him up when he did not reach home, they started searching for him. Singer’s Micra car was found parked near a factory near Behra village. The car’s back door was found open. The singer’s body had about 4-5 bullet injuries, the report said.

“The body has been kept in the mortuary and postmortem is underway. A murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered,” Mohinder Singh, SHO of Dera Bassi was quoted as saying.

Earlier, last month Famous Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was shot at in Mohali. He was immediately admitted to Fortis Hospital, Mohali. The incident happened when Parmish after finishing his programme at Elante Mall was headed home in Mohali. Then all of a sudden he went to have dinner outside. After he had had his dinner, an i20 car came and at shot at Parmish, probably when he was inside the car. The shooting happened at Sector 91 of Mohali.

Later, a most wanted gangster Dilpreet Singh Dhahan had claimed responsibility for firing at Parmish Verma. The gangster took the responsibility on a Facebook page. He wrote: “I Dilpreet Singh Dhahan wish to tell everyone that I have shot Parmish Verma.”
