It was a case of contract killing hired by a Hoshiarpur-based transporter to kill Satnam.

A hardcore criminal, Rinda who originally is from Taran Taran but lived in Nanded Sahib in Maharashtra, was sentenced to life imprisonment in September 2011 for the murder of a youth in Tarn Taran in 2008. If the allegations of paying money through hawala are established, singer Parmish Verma will face action. His security cover is being removed, a senior official of the Mohali police told media persons.

Dilpreet and his aides had fired at Parmish and Kulwant in Sector 74 when they were on their way to Parmish’s house in Sector 91, Mohali, in his black Toyota Fortuner.
