Two couples killed in road mishaps in Phagwara, Nawanshahr

Half the car went beneath the truck. The couple was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Phagwara, where they were declared brought dead

The Hush Post: Road accidents claimed four lives at two separate places in Phagwara and Nawanshahr on Wednesday. In one of the mishaps, Manmeet Singh, 56, and his wife Harinder Kaur, 50, were killed when their Indica car rammed into a truck near Kandhi village near Phagwara. The victims were residents of Jawahar Nagar, Jalandhar, and were returning from Ludhiana when the incident took place.

Eyewitnesses said the impact of the accident was so strong that half of the car went beneath the truck. The couple was rushed to civil hospital, Phagwara, where they were declared brought dead.

The other accident also involved a couple — Dharampal, 32, and his wife Rupinder Kaur, 30 newly-married — were killed when an army tanker hit their motorcycle at Burj Kandhari village in Nawanshahr district. The victims were residents of Ladhana Ucha village of Nawanshahr.
