The Hush Post, Khanna: Posing as a woman, a youth from Romania got fake Euro currency notes exchanged with real Indian currency at the shop of a Western Union Money Transfer at Khanna. Later, on finding the Euro currency to be fake, an alert shopkeeper raised an alarm and the Romanian national was nabbed. Later it was found that the foreigner was not a woman but a man.
The arrested Romanian youth has been identified as Simion. The Khanna Police have registered a case of cheating against him.
According to police sources, Simion had come to Khanna to meet one of his female friends from Mauritius. In Khanna, he went to the shop of a Western Union Money Transfer in female attire where he gave Euro currency of 1000 and got it converted to Indian currency to the tune of Rs 70,000. After exchanging the money he left the shop. The shopkeeper soon realised that the notes of Euro currency given to him were fake ones. He raised an alarm and Simion was nabbed and police was called.
When a search was conducted, it was found that Simion was a woman. He was take to the Khanna City Police station were a case was registered against him. Later he was produced in a local court which sent in the police remand for two days.
Police said that Simion has revealed that he had come to India to undergo a sex change operation.
SHO City Khanna Rajneesh Kumar said that in his preliminary questioning, Simion has confessed that he had taken these fake Euro currency notes from a person in Romania and had come to sell the same in Khanna. He also said that he was about to go to change his sex as a woman and was undergoing medications for the same. The SHO said Simion was produced in a court from where he was sent in police remand for two days.
