The Hush Post: Punjab cabinet will see nine fresh faces when the cabinet expansion takes place in Chandigarh at 6:00 pm today. In the meeting between state Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and state party president Sunil Jakhar in New Delhi yesterday, it was decided that 9 new ministers would be inducted into the cabinet.

Meanwhile, as per a TV 18 report, the nine ministers and portfolios of at least seven of them have been finalised. These are as under:

Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi —Sports & Public Relations

Sukhjinder Singh Sukhi Randhwa, MLA, Dera Baba Nanak — Jail and Cooperative

Sukhbinder Sukh Sarakaria, MLA, Raja Sansi — Revenue and Power

Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA, Ludhiana West — Food and Civil Supplies

Om Prakash Soni, MLA, Amritsar Central — Urban Development

Gurpreet Kanger– Irrigation

Balbir Singh Sidhu — Transport

Trupt Rjinder Bajwa — Animal Husbandry.

There is not much clarity on the portfolios Sundar Shayam Arora, MLA, Hoshiarpur and Vijay Inder Singla, MLA, Sangrur will get. There is a possibility that after making Aruna Chaudhary and Razia Sultana the cabinet mininsters, these two could fit in. The list indicates that Capt. Amarinder Singh has had an upper hand in finalizing the names and his loyalists have made the cut.
