The Hush Post: A Punjabi truck driver from Tarn Taran was shot dead killed in a Naxalite attack in Jharkhand state. After killing the driver, the Naxalites set his truck ablaze.
The victim truck driver has been identified as Joga Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran district in Punjab. He had reportedly gone to Jharkhand with his truck laden with some goods.
A report aired by News 18 TV channel said that the victim was shot dead by the Naxalites and his vehicle was set ablaze.
Meanwhile, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has demanded full safety and security of the Punjabi truck drivers who go to such attack prone areas.
Prem Singh Chandumajra, senior SAD leader and Member of Parliament from Anandpur Sahib, has demanded compensation for the victim driver’s family. He said that the truck drivers from Punjab who go to such attack prone areas should be provided full safety and security.
Meanwhile, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President Manjit Singh GK has also said that the state and Central governments should take a stern action against those who are involved in the attack on the victim truck driver. He said that the Punjab and Centre governments should pay compensation to the family of the victim. “We will take this issue with National Human Rights Commission,” he said.
