According to Indian Meterological Department, a fresh Western Disturbance is approaching north India. In the next 24-48 hrs moderate rainfall and hailstorm is expected in various parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, J&K. Crops will be affected, said Prabhjyot Kaur, Head, Agro Metereology Department, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
Light rains for two days
Delhi and its surrounding areas such as Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad witnessed change in weather and received rainfall on Thursday. The capital witnessed gusty winds and thunderstorm owing to an intense western disturbance over Northern India.
The capital is expected to witness intense spells of rain and thundershowers with isolated hailstorm activity for the next two days.
Light scattered rains are expected to continue over the national capital region till February 15.
According to Centre-run System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), a thick blanket of smog also engulfed Delhi on Thursday.
Around 10 trains were rescheduled after getting delayed by at least by 2 hours.
