Rajinder Gupta resigns as president of Punjab Cricket Association

Renowned businessman Rajinder Gupta resigned from the post of President of Punjab Cricket Association today in Mohali. He gave his resignation after a ruckus was witnessed outside the PCA Cricket Stadium.

Rajinder Gupta reportedly said, “I wanted to do a lot for the cricket and the state cricketers, but as I was not successful I take full responsibility and resign from the post of the president.”

Though he did not tell the actual reasons for his resignation, the sources say that MP Pandove led group in the PCA was taking decisions without Rajinder’s suggestions. Also, Gupta wanted to implement the Lodha panel and the Supreme Court guidelines but the panel did not let it happen.

61-year-old Rajinder Gupta is the chairman of the famous Trident Group. In the year 2007, he received the Padma Shri award for his work in the trade and industry.
