Young Punjab farmer makes device which sends mobile phone alert of theft in fields

The Hush Post: A farmer sitting at home in a remote village need not worry about theft in his fields any longer. There is no dearth of innovative skills despite the roadblocks people face in their day to day lives.

One such innovator, a drop-out after Class XII and a young farmer, Rajwinder Singh of Sirvali village in Muktsar has made a device which will alert a farmer if a theft of a transformer or electric motor takes place in his fields.

The device will work within a range of 15 feet, so if any unknown person ventures into his fields, an alert will be sounded on the farmer’s mobile phone.

Rajwinder had to leave school due to his father’s illness. He has earlier also made a device which informs farmers when electricity resumes at the tubewell after an electric power cut. This device also helps a farmer switch on his electric motor from his mobile phone.

Rajwinder does organic farming in 4 kanals of his agricultural land. He also does farming in 5 acres of his agricultural land with the help of the Agriculture Department  to reap benefits of latest research, agricultural implements and other farming related techniques. He is a regulat visitor at kisan melas which increases his awareness on farming.
