Not owing to paddy stubble pollution but due to fog-like conditions created by the smog arising out of paddy-stubble, an accident took place in Sunam where four members of the family were killed on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
In the accident, all four members including the husband-wife duo, their son and grand-daughter were killed. The dead has been identified as Harish Adhlakha, a cloth merchant from Sunam. Harish was on his way back with his family from a wedding in Bhawanigarh to Snuam when the car rammed into a truck parked on the roadside, though complete invisible due to paddy-stubble smog.
Among those who died is a four-year-old girl. The accident took place near Gharachon village in Sunam. The car crumpled against a truck and the vehicle broke into several pieces.
