Aman Tatha is said to possess 50 acres of land in Uttar Pradesh, a flat in Mohali and is alleged to be politically well-connected.
The Hush Post: Punjab Police have arrested a village Sarpanch in Taran Tarn on the charges of heroin smuggling. The police have seized 4 Kg of heroin worth Rs 24 crore, one 9 mm pistol and 8 cartridges from his possession. The accused, Aman Tatha, is a Sarpanch of village Tatha in Patti.
According to Taran Tarn police Aman Tatha, alias Amandeep, is an international drug smuggler who used to procure heroin from Pakistan and supplied it all over India. SSP Darshan Singh said that Chohla Sahib police station in-charge, SI Sukhraj Singh had received information that Aman Tatha was to deliver a consignment in the area following which he was nabbed red-handed.
The SSP informed that Tatha is a Proclaimed Offender in many cases registered against him under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act in various parts of Punjab. He is facing different cases for a total seizure of 70 Kg heroin from his possession, he said, adding that Tatha had cases against him in Ganganagar, Rajasthan too.
