Punjab govt declares public holiday on September 10

The Hush Post:  The Punjab government has declared a public holiday on Monday, the September 10 on account of  First Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Shri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhs, was installed at Shri Harmandir Sahib on this day in 1604.

A spokesperson of the CM’s Office said that the offices of Punjab government will remain closed. Boards, corporations and educational institutions will remain closed too. The holiday was earlier included in the state’s list of restricted holidays. About 30 million Sikhs celebrate the day across the world.
