Punjab local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has been advised a medical maun vrat. He has advised bed rest for five days. This, after an “exhaustive” 17-day election campaign, a statement issued by his office said this morning.
“His vocal chords have been injured,” the statement said. Recently, during election campaigning, the Punjab minister addressed more than 70 back-to-back public meetings.
The man who during his cricketing days, wouldn’t be unhappy to miss a century or miss a man of the match award for the fear of public speaking during the awards ceremony had a major turn around in his personality and is now known for his Sidhuisms, speeches which often land him in trouble.
Sidhu was told that he was “on the verge of losing his voice” and was suggested a complete 3 to 5 day rest.
Sidhu had been in the news for the past few days. First due to his Pakistan visit to attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor. Later his ‘Rahul is my captain’ remarks went viral.
