In an early morning accident, two persons were killed on the Chandigarh-Delhi GT road near Uchani village in Karnal. Another one was critically injured who died later in hospital. The car collided with a truck while crossing a divider. The front part of the car was badly mangled.
The police said the truck was coming from the Chandigarh side and the driver perhaps due to lack of sleep, could not maneuver the car as it was in high speed.
The deceased were identified as Harjot Kaur (30), Baldev Singh (32) and Manjeet Singh (31), all residents of Nawanshahr in Punjab.
They were residents of village Banga near Attari border, the police said.  They were returning back to Nawanshahr after dropping a relative at Delhi airport.
