The Hush Post: Monday blues vanished for Delhiites, Chandigarh and Shimla residents and for people living in many parts of north India as a cloudy and windy morning followed by mild to heavy rainfall greeted them today morning.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast thunderstorm and rains are likely to continue in Delhi-NCR during the day. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds are also expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on Tuesday. The rains have brought unexpected respite for people living in the plains as temperatures had started soaring.
The sudden change in weather has been due to the Western Disturbance (WD) over north Pakistan and Jammu & Kashmir. Another WD is likely to affect north India till April 10, The IMD press release said. Chandigarh and Delhi had witnessed a hailstorm on Friday too. Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing rain and hail intermittently for the last two days.
