The Hush Post| 9:22 pm|one-minute-read| All six men accused of killing Pehlu Khan in 2017 have been acquitted by a Rajasthan court. The judge found several contradictions in the evidence presented in court and the charges were cleared on the benefit of doubt.

In April 2017, Pehlu Khan was transporting cattle with six others after buying them at a cattle fair in Jaipur. He was transporting them to Haryana when he was stopped on the highway and brutally thrashed by a group of men who thought he was carrying beef.

The incident was caught on camera and the footage helped police identify the accused. Three of the people identified were underage and have been out on bail.

Now the Rajasthan government has decided to appeal against the judgment in 2017 Pehlu Khan lynching case, says state Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Rajeeva Swarup.
Video Of lynching Not “Admissible Evidence”
The video of the men thrashing Pehlu Khan, which had gone viral, was not admissible evidence because the man who made the video turned hostile as a witness and did not depose in court. Also, the video was not clear enough to identify the accused, as per the court.
