Crores of cash, quintals of silver recovered from Delhi-Ahmedabad Ashram Express

The police is probing the source and destination of the consignment

The Hush Post: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Rajasthan Police has seized unaccounted cash worth 1.2 crore from Delhi-Ahmedabad Ashram Express. The police also recovered 2 kg gold and 3 quintals of silver from the train. ATS conducted the raid at Ajmer, Jaipur and Beawar stations.

Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) jointly conducted the raid. The cash and the valuables were stashed inside cardboard boxes and were being transported in the parcel bogey.

ADG (ATS and SOG) Umesh Mishra informed, “Following a tip-off about the hawala money in a parcel, a team of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in coordination with the railway authorities and Government Railway Police (GRP) searched the parcel. They found Rs 1.2 crore cash, gold biscuits weighing 2 kg and 2 quintals of silver in raw form.”

The income tax authorities have been informed about the matter. He also added, they were probing the source and destination of the consignment.
