A young man in Rajasthan’s Baran district killed his sister-in-law after an argument over drinking water. The incident occurred on Friday morning in Kalupara area of Siswali town. A scuffle broke out between the two over filling of drinking water from a public hand pump.
Accused Mukesh Bairwa entered into an argument with his sister-in-law Sheela Bairwa. The argument soon snowballed into a scuffle and Mukesh struck Sheela with a brick.
27-year-old Sheela received multiple head injuries on her head and was rushed to a local hospital. The doctors referred her to the district hospital in Kota. However, Sheela succumbed to her injuries during the treatment.
The Seswali police have detained Mukesh, 29, and booked him under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. An an investigation is underway, said Seswali police station incharge Narpatdan Singh. The police have sent the body for post-mortem, he added.
