The Hush Post: Manvendra Singh, son of BJP’s veteran leader Jaswant Singh, has quit the BJP. He said this in the Swabhiman rally organised today.
He said joining the BJP in the first place was a ‘’mistake’’ while quitting the party. “Kamal ki phool hamari bhool thi (choosing the Lotus flower was my mistake), said the former BJP parliamentarian, who has been campaigning vigorously in his constituency ever since he announced a rally for ‘’fight for self-respect” of voters.
Earlier, Manvendra Singh had skipped Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s Gaurav Yatra in Barmer and Pachpadra this month.
His ties with the BJP are under strain since his father was denied a ticket in the last Lok Sabha elections.
“People are angry and upset; their demands have not been met. Farmers are angry. It’s not about the dignity of my family but about the self-respect of the people of this entire region,” Chitra Singh, wife of Manvendra Singh told a news channel.
